WAY TO GO BRANSON

Branson showing off his Belt Buckle,
he won for 2nd in the All Around, Junior Division.
We traveled to Panguitch, Utah this weekend to participate in another 4-H Working Ranch Horse Competition. Branson did so awesome!
He made a goal that he would improve a little at each competition.
So he practiced every night with his Dad and it paid off!
We are so happy for him! He was so exicted!
I did get a tear in my eye, can you beleve that?

This is Branson and Chastin Hortin who took 1st, he won a saddle.
In the competition these kids are judged in five areas. They take a written test, sort cattle in a round pen, head and heel a dummy from horse back five times each within a time limit and do a reining pattern and call for a steer and show they can hold it on the fence. Branson improved in every area this time! There were 15 kids competing in the Junior Division.

Branson and Rod getting ready for the Dummy Roping.

On Friday night Rod and Branson also competed in their first Ranch Rodeo, they did pretty good they took 7th out of about 40 teams in the sort with 47 seconds on 3 head.

Branson even caught a heel on the roping.
(I dont have pictures of that though, they did'nt turn out bummer!)

These are the kids from Box Elder County that went down to Panguitch.
They traveled the farthest and we were the County with the most kids there. WoW!
Left to Right Front: Chett Udy, Cody Noyes, Branson Bywater, Bailey Soto, Baxton Udy
Back Row: Cody Coombs, Jake Udy, Wyatt Misrasi, Tate Coombs
They all did so Great!!

Grandpa Rick pulled his trailer down for us to sleep in!
We had a big slumber party
Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Kati, Bubba, Carson, Branson, Dutchess, Mom & Dad!
Good thing Grandpa got a new bigger trailer!

Grandpa Rick cooked us a good breakfast both mornings.
He is so awesome, he watched the whole long slow moving show from start to finish.
He is not used to timed events, He is used to those 8 second rides and then going home.
I told him he will have to get used to the timed events, cause that is what his next generation will be participating in.

CARTER'S CRAZY CORN MAZE

We went with the King's to Carter's Crazy Corn Maze
for Family Home Evening.
It was not haunted! Thank goodness!

Branson and Carson were watching out for their DAD.
poor Carson was pretty scared. He was always hanging onto someone.

Rod thought he knew where he was going, he would stay ahead of us and then end up behind us scarying us half to death. I am glad he was there though, last time I took the boys to a corn maze by myself and we were in there a long time, I thought we may never get out!

Today was a great day! We went with our 4-H group to the Working Ranch Horse Gathering. Rod is the 4-H leader to about 15 kids in the WRH program. I am so proud of our boys that went to the gathering they all improved from last year! Almost all of them placed in the top 5 in one category or another. Rod said the most important thing is that they did their personal best! He is so awesome, I have to say that he impresses me alot with the way that he works with these kids, he is very dedicated to this and is sincerely interested in each kid and their growth. We have a little awards assebly at the end of the year and he sits down and tells me what he wants each kids certificate to say. He is such a great Dad and this is a wonderful way for he and my boys to make a connection.

Oh my heck! I can't believe that I am starting a blog! I didn't really ever think that I would do this, but since Mandi & Jacki have been doing it I have become much more interested and it is kind of fun to look at others blogs and see what they are doing. So what the heck! I was showing Rod blogs tonight and he was quite interested. He encouraged me and actually helped me set ours up.
